Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals
October 6, 2024 1:00 pm EDT

This Sunday afternoon, the NFL presents Draftkings football fans with a matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and the Cincinnati Bengals. Let’s take a look at this NFL game from a DFS perspective.

Before we dive into the Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals Game let’s review the rules for the Draftkings single Game showdown contest.

Draftkings Single Game Showdown Contest Rules

You have $50,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team captain. The captain accumulates 1.5 times the standard fantasy points. Additionally, the captain is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard fantasy points. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your captain position if you hope to win a large field DFS GPP (guaranteed prize pool) showdown contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game showdown contest, I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

I recommend that all readers review the starting lineups for both teams prior to setting your DFS lineup for this one game slate.

Here are my Draftkings picks for this week’s Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals matchup.

Draftkings NFL Showdown Picks

Captain-Lamar Jackson, Quarterback, Baltimore Ravens $10,600

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson played at an exceptionally high level last season. How well did Jackson play? Upon the conclusion of the 2023 regular season, Lamar Jackson was named the Most Valuable Player in the NFL. Let’s take a quick look at Jackson’s game data from the 2023 season to better shed light on my previous statement.

Now that we have ascertained how Lamar Jackson played last season, let’s shift our focus to 2024. In the four games that Lamar Jackson has played for the Baltimore Ravens in the 2024 NFL regular season, Baltimore Ravens starting quarterback Lamar Jackson has accumulated 859 passing yards, five passing touchdowns, 308 rushing yards, and added two rushing touchdowns.

More recently, in the Baltimore Ravens dominating 35-10 win over the Buffalo Bills last one week ago, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson tallied a robust 156 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, 54 rushing yards, and one rushing touchdown.

Looking at the data just presented more closely, in the Ravens victory over the Bills just mentioned, Lamar Jackson accumulated 24.1 Draftkings points.

Additionally, I like Lamar Jackson from a general matchup perspective. Why? The Cincinnati Bengals have had issues containing opposing quarterbacks this season. Through four games played in the 2024 NFL regular season, the Cincinnati Bengals are ranked a rather low 25th in total Draftkings points allowed a game (14.9) to opposing quarterbacks and 32nd in total passing yards allowed a game to the quarterback position (274.3 yards).

For the specific reasons just noted, I am backing Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jakson at the captain position for this one Game Draftkings NFL Showdown slate.

Flex Plays

Joe Burrow, Quarterback, Cincinnati Bengals $9,600

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow played exceptionally well last year. Unfortunately, for the Cincinnati Bengals, Burrow suffered an injury that ended his season prematurely. Having stated that, let’s review Burrow’s relevant key player game data from the 2023 NFL regular season.

In the ten Games that quarterback Joe Burrow played for the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2023 NFL regular season, Burrow compiled 2,309 passing yards, 15 passing touchdowns, and added 88 rushing yards.

Now that we have determined how Joe Burrow played last season, let’s shift our focus to the 2024 NFL regular season. Two weeks ago, in the Kansas City Chiefs 26-25 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Joe Burrow compiled 258 passing yards and two passing touchdowns.

Looking closer at the data just presented, in the Chiefs victory over the Bengals just mentioned, Joe Burrow tallied a robust 18.1 Draftkings points.

Additional flex plays I like to perform well this week (Draftkings price noted): Derrick Henry, Running Back (Baltimore Ravens) $11,000: Zay Flowers, Wide Receiver (Baltimore Ravens) $8,400: Tee Higgins, Wide Receiver (Cincinnati Bengals) $8,000.
