Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott was the driving force behind the Dallas Cowboys success on the offensive side of the football in the 2023 NFL regular season. Having stated that, how did Prescott perform from a statistical perspective? Let’s review Dak Prescott’s relevant player data from the 2023 NFL regular season to answer that question.

In the 17 games that quarterback Dak Prescott played for the Dallas Cowboys in the 2023 NFL regular season, Prescott tallied an impressive 4,516 passing yards, 36 passing touchdowns, 242 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns.

Now that we have determined how quarterback Dak Prescott played last season, let’s shift our focus to the 2024 NFL regular season. In the four Games that Prescott has played for the Dallas Cowboys in the 2024 NFL regular season, Prescott has compiled 1,072 passing yards, six passing touchdowns, and added 21 rushing yards.

More recently, in the Baltimore Ravens 28-25 win over the Dallas Cowboys two ago, Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott tallied an impressive 379 passing yards and two passing touchdowns.

Looking at the data just presented more closely, in the Ravens victory over the Cowboys just mentioned, Dak Prescott accumulated a massive 32.9 Draftkings points. It has to be said, those are the type of DFS numbers I need to see from a player that I select for the captain position.

Flex Plays

Jake Ferguson, Tight End, Dallas Cowboys $7,600

For my lead flex play, I am going to take a chance on Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson. In the three games that Ferguson has played for the Dallas Cowboys in the 2024 NFL regular season, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has targeted Ferguson 23 times. In those 23 targets just noted, Ferguson accumulated 16 receptions and 159 receiving yards.

I certainly like Ferguson from a general matchup perspective. Why? The Pittsburgh Steelers have had issues containing opposing tight ends this season. Through four games played in the 2024 NFL regular season, the Steelers are ranked a dreadful 28th in total Draftkings points allowed to opposing tight ends a game (11.9)

In conclusion, I fully expect talented Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson to play at a high level versus a vulnerable Pittsburgh Steelers secondary on Sunday night.
