Draftkings Best Dana Open DFS Player Selections 7/18/24

This week, Draftkings golf fans will be presented with the 2024 Dana Open. Let’s take a look at this week’s LPGA event from a DFS perspective.

Before I dive into my Draftkings player selections for this tournament let’s review the Golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a Golfer’s success at this week’s 2024 Dana Open.

Where will the 2024 Dana Open be played?

The 2024 Dana Open will be played at the Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio. The Golf course is par 71 that measures approximately 6,555 yards.

Linn Grant won the 2023 Dana Open with a cumulative four round score of 21 under par.

How will the 2024 Dana Open cut be determined?

The 2024 Dana Open will have a field of 144 players to start the tournament on Thursday. Upon the completion of two rounds, a cut will occur. The top 65 golfers (including ties) will make the cut and move on to play the third round. The remaining golfers will miss the cut.

2024 Dana Open Draftkings Player Selections

Xiyu Lin $10,200

Xiyu Lin has accumulated four top 30 finishes in her last five tournaments played on the LPGA Tour, including a fourth-place result at the 2024 LPGA Founder’s Cup in May.

In my opinion, Xiyu Lin is one of the most talented golfers in this week’s 2024 Dana Open field. For that specific reason, I am backing Xiyu Lin as a DFS play for this LPGA Tour Draftkings slate.

Lexi Thompson $9,800

Since the beginning of July, Lexi Thompson has played eight events on the LPGA Tour. In those eight tournaments just mentioned, Thompson accumulated an impressive six top 16 finishes, including a second-place result at the 2024 Meijer LPGA Classic five weeks ago.

Due to Lexi Thompson’s quality finish at the 2024 Meijer LPGA Classic I decided to take a hard look at the relevant player statistics for the tournament to see how Thompson fared relative to the field.

Upon the completion of four rounds of comPetitive play at the 2024 Meijer LPGA Classic, in relation to the field, Lexi Thompson ranked 20th in driving distance (273.5 yards), seventh in strokes gained off the tee (0.789), 11th in GIR (greens in regulation-79.2%), and third in strokes gained putting (2.397).

Thompson has played well at the Highlands Meadows Golf Club in the past. More specifically, Lexi Thompson finished second at the 2019 Dana Open.

Hye Jin Choi $9,400

The talented South Korean arrives at this week’s event on the heels of three consecutive top 20 finishes on the LPGA Tour, including an impressive seventh place result at last week’s 2024 Amundi Evian Championship.

Hye Jin Choi also checks the box for me when it comes to key player statistics. Choi is currently ranked 13th in GIR (greens in regulation-71.47%), 12th in total birdies made (179), and 20th in total rounds under par (23).

Choi finished 23rd at the 2023 Dana Open.
