Draftkings LSU vs USC Showdown
September 1, 2024 7:30 pm EDT

Week 1 of the College Football season presents a matchup between the USC Trojans and LSU Tigers. Let’s take a look at this college Football Game and look at the DraftKings Best College Football Showdown Picks.

Before we dive into my DFS picks for the USC vs LSU game, let’s review an important note regarding the rules and scoring for the single game showdown contests.

For those readers who are not aware, the rules and scoring for DraftKings single-game showdown contests are vastly different from the traditional classic contests offered by the platform.

If you need to review the specific rules for the single-Game showdown contests, feel free to visit the Draftkings website.

*I recommend that all readers review the starting lineups for both teams prior to setting your DFS lineup for this one Game CFB slate. Remember, once lineups lock on the Draftkings platform you cannot swap players.

USC vs LSU Draftkings Showdown Picks

Miller Moss ($10800)

Caleb Williams is gone from USC but they have a great replacement in Miller Moss. Moss might not be a household name across college football yet, but soon he will be. In a start in the bowl game against the Louisville Cardinals, Moss had a huge game completing 23 of his 33 passes for 372 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception. He also added 13 yards on the ground.

LSU’s defense was awful last season, and there is no reason to believe it’s going to be any difference this year. Moss is going to be chalky, but it’s hard to imagine that he’s not going to be in the winning lineup.

Zavion Thomas ($4000)

There aren’t many low salary players that I like on Sunday night, but Zavion Thomas is one of them. Thomas is going to be boom or bust, but if he can catch one or two deep balls he’s going to blow past value.

Zachariah Branch ($8800)

Zachariah Branch is going to be a popular play for Captain and he’s going to also have a heyday against the LSU defense. Branch is going to be moving into the starting slot spot this season, and he’s going to have no issue crushing value. Lincoln Riley knows the best way for USC to have success is to give Branch a whole lot of plays. The ball is going to be in Branch’s hands plenty.

CJ Daniels ($8200)

CJ Daniels is expensive but he’s no doubt going to be worth it. Daniels transferred in from Liberty and he’s going to be the top target off the offseason. Last season he caught 55 passes for 1,067 yards and 10 touchdowns. I am not sold on this USC defense being a whole lot better, and Daniels is going to catch a couple of deep bombs. In most of my lineups, I will have Daniels as my captain.

Damian Ramos ($4600)

If you are looking to have a place kicker in your lineup, the way to go is Ramos. I trust Ramos more, and he’s going to have a couple more opportunities to kick. I don’t love using a kicker on this slate, but if your going to use one, use Ramos.
