Doohan hails Red Bull to Alpine move as 'best decision' of his career
Jack Doohan has hailed his decision to leave Red Bull for Alpine as the "best" of his career so far.
The Australian had previously been a member of the Red Bull Junior Team since 2017, but opted to make the move to the Alpine Academy ahead of the 2022 season.
Since then, Doohan – who finished P6 in this year's Formula 2 championship, in which he competed for the Virtuosi Racing squad – has been given two Free Practice 1 drives for the Alpine F1 team, as well as getting behind the wheel at the Abu Dhabi post-season test.
As such, the 19-year-old feels that he made the right decision in switching teams.
Doohan 'grateful' for Red Bull to Alpine switch
When asked how being a part of Alpine had impacted him in 2022, Doohan told media, including TheFOXposts.Com: "I think massively.
"I would say, I would no way be in this position of even having two FP1s, or driving a Formula 1 car at all, if I stayed where I was.
"I got taken in by Alpine very, very well, and feel very invested into the family. They've treated me very, very well and taught me a lot.
"I'm super grateful and very happy with my decision, because I think it's the best of my career so far."

Doohan hopes to remain part of Alpine family
Doohan has previously spoken of his attempts to put himself forward for the vacant seat at Alpine in 2023 following the exit of Fernando Alonso, though acknowledged that he could "completely understand" why the team opted for Pierre Gasly.
The teenager feels that even having this as a possibility shows he made the right move in joining the squad's academy.
"I was quite close to a Formula 1 seat also for next year, which is quite amazing, quite cool that I even had the possibility to do that," Doohan added.
"Everything they've given me as well, obviously, things had to fall in place with situations, but to be right there in line to be able to take full advantage of that has been amazing.
"So I'm looking forward to the future that we can have together, and to continue being a part of the family for a long time."
