The New York Yankees and the Detroit Tigers meet Sunday in MLB action from Comerica Park. Here’s a Detroit Tigers vs NY Yankees Prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Tigers vs Yankees pick.

New York Yankees Betting Preview

In their last series the Yankees took on the Chicago White Sox. New York lost 12-2 in the opener of that set, then took the next pair to win the series. After a 4-1 win over Detroit in the Friday Game, in Game two the Yankees took a shutout loss 4-0. Starter Carlos Rodon coughed up four earned over 3.1 innings on seven hits and a walk.

In the starter role for the finale will be New York’s Marcus Stroman. This year Stroman is 8-6 with a 4.01 ERA in 23 starts. Over 254 career Games (246 starts) Stroman is 85-82 with a 3.68 ERA.

Tarik Skubal will finish things off as starter for the Tigers on Sunday. Skubal is 14-4 with a 2.53 ERA in 24 starts this year. Over 99 Games (96 starts) in his career Skubal is 37-31 with a 3.49 ERA.

Detroit Tigers vs NY Yankees Prediction

I might try the Tigers here. The line really isn’t very enticing, though. Skubal has done pretty well in his last two starts. He’s 2-0 during that time, with three earned in 13.0 combined innings. As for Stroman, he’s coming off 5.0 innings and one earned versus the Rangers but did have a rough outing (2.2 innings; seven earned) prior to that.

On Saturday, the Tigers got a pretty well-rounded offensive effort off 10 team hits. The pitching staff was great across the board as well, giving up just four hits and three walks combined, alongside eight Ks. I think Detroit has a decent shot at keeping it going Sunday to win the series, but the risk probably isn’t worth it line-wise. I’m staying away.
