The Houston Astros come into this one looking to build on their series- opening 5-2 win over the Tigers on Friday. The win carried over some momentum from salvaging a win in their series finale against the Yankees as well as a split with the Mariners in the series before that.
Astros Starting To Pick It Up At The Plate
Jose Altuve leads the Astros with 51 hits and a .325 batting average with 7 home runs and 9 doubles while Kyle Tucker has a team-high 12 homers with 7 doubles and 26 RBIs. Yordan Alvarez also has 8 homers with 20 RBIs while Altuve has the Astros’ team lead with 7 stolen bases so far this season.

Detroit Tigers vs Houston Astros Prediction
I’m on the under here. I think this has potential to be an out-and-out pitcher’s duel. Javier has had success against the Tigers in his career, and the Tigers have really been scuffling at the plate. It has been a big reason as to why this team has been struggling like nobody’s Business over the last week. On the other side, Tarik Skubal’s been one of the best starters in the AL this season, and he’s been able to shut down lineups as tough as Houston’s all year long. Should be an awesome pitching matchup, so give me the under.
