Round 2 of the US Open gets underway on Wednesday, when Novak Djokovic, Frances Tiafoe, Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek take the court. There is a lot of star power in action and plenty options with which to work on the betting market.

Let’s take a look at the best bets to be made on Day 3 of the year’s fourth and final Grand Slam, and also be sure to check out my best outright bets on both the men’s and women’s sides.

You can bet on all today’s Sports at FanDuel, America’s #1 Sportsbook, which has a great new customer offer where you can bet $5 and receive $200 in bonus bets plus $100 off NFL Sunday Ticket! Click here to take advantage of this awesome offer.

Mirra Andreeva +5.5 games over Coco Gauff (-135)

This is a rough draw for Gauff, just as it was at the French Open. These two teenage sensations also faced each other at Roland Garros and Gauff won in 3 set. The 19-year-old American may get the job done once again, but there is no reason to think it will be easy. Andreeva has been the breakout star on the WTA Tour in 2023 and her Grand Slam efforts include a fourth-round performance at Wimbledon as a qualifier. Meanwhile, Gauff endured an absolutely wild first-round match against Laura Siegemund on Monday night that was far more dramatic and comPetitive than anyone could have guessed. The world #6 could be in for another tough one on Wednesday afternoon.

Roberto Carballes Baena +5.5 games over Aslan Karatsev (-125)

Carballes Baena upset #4 seed Holger Rune in the opening round. It is true that Rune has been less than 100 percent physically since Wimbledon, but Carballes Baena’s performance was still an impressive one. Now the draw opens up considerably in the form of Karatsev, who took advantage of a fatigued Jiri Lehecka on Monday (Lehecka played and lost in the Winston-Salem final on Saturday). Karatsev had been 2-6 in his last eight matches heading into New York and he is 13-15 on hard courts over the past two seasons. Moreover, Karatsev is 0-3 lifetime in the head-to-head series with Carballes Baena. All of those meetings came on clay, but 0-3 is 0-3. The Spaniard knows he can win this contest outright and I think he will. The +5.5 Game spread is just a bonus.

Laslo Djere -4 games over Hugo Gaston (-112)

Both of these guys are at their best on clay, but it’s Djere who is the more underrated of the two on hard courts. The Serb has won 17 matches on this surface over the past 2 seasons (24 if you count indoors). Moreover, he is coming off a third-round performance in Winston-Salem and impressively crushed Brandon Nakashima in the first round on Monday. Gaston is just 13-18 on hard courts dating back to the start of 2020. I think Djere will win this one and win it big.
