Create a healthcare system that works – Drs. Michael Fine & Kevin Pho
Physician Kevin Pho – KevinMD.com – has a popular podcast – The Podcast by KevinMD. Dr. Michael Fine appears on that podcast frequently – and we have an excerpt of one of his most timely interviews as COVID winds down from daily prominence.
Dr. Pho says:
“The COVID-19 pandemic has placed unprecedented strain on the Healthcare system, and frontline workers have been bearing the brunt of the burden. With long hours, heavy workloads, and little time for rest, Healthcare workers have been pushed to their limits.
Despite these challenges, many have continued to persevere, putting in extra hours and adapting to new technologies and protocols. But there comes a point when enough is enough, and we need to stand up and demand change.
The opportunity is now to create a Healthcare system that works for everyone, from patients to providers. By pushing for greater investment in Healthcare infrastructure, more resources for frontline workers, and better support for mental Health and wellbeing, we can create a system that truly serves the needs of all.
So, let’s stand up and demand change. Let’s build a Healthcare system that works for everyone, and ensures that our frontline workers are valued, supported, and able to provide the best care possible.”
Michael Fine – a frequent contributor to RINewsToday – is a family physician and author of On Medicine as Colonialism. Here is his interview:
