The Los Angeles Angels and the Chicago Cubs meet Sunday in MLB action from Wrigley Field. Here’s a Chicago Cubs vs LA Angels Prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.

Los Angeles Angels Betting Preview

In their early-week series the Angels took on the Oakland Athletics. Los Angeles did poorly in that one, losing in a sweep 7-5, 5-0 and 5-0. The Angels’ skid continued with a 5-1 Friday loss to the Cubs. On Saturday LA cruised to a blowout win 7-0. Starter Tyler Anderson finished with 8.0 clean frames, three hits, no walks and 10 Ks.

It’ll be Jose Soriano in the starter role for the Angels on Sunday. This year Soriano is 4-6 with a 3.77 ERA in 15 Games (13 starts). In his MLB career Soriano is 5-9 with a 3.73 ERA in 53 Games (13 starts).

Chicago Cubs Betting Preview

Over on the Cubs’ side, they played the Philadelphia Phillies this past week. Chicago lost the first two games in that set 6-4 and 5-3 before a 10-2 win in the finale. Following their Friday win, in game two the Cubs were out-hit 12-4 in the defeat. Kyle Hendricks gave up two earned in 2.0 innings in the start on four hits and two walks.

Hayden Wesneski will take the starter role for the Cubs on Sunday. So far this season Wesneski is 2-5 with a 4.14 ERA in 22 Games (five starts). During his career Wesneski is 8-12 with a 4.02 ERA in 62 Games (20 starts).

Cubs vs Angels Pick Injury Notes

Angels RP Jose Cisnero (shoulder) started throwing off a mound in late June.

Cubs RP Yency Almonte will likely miss the rest of the season after an upcoming surgery on his right shoulder.

Chicago Cubs vs LA Angels Prediction

I might try the Angels here. I could probably go either way, though. Both starters could use a good outing regardless. Soriano gave up four earned in 4.0 innings during a loss in his last outing versus Oakland on July 2. He was pitching well before that, though. As for Wesneski, he’s coming off a loss with five earned in 5.0 innings.

On Saturday the Angels jumped out to a big lead after just a few innings and cruised the rest of the way on a nice start from Anderson. I like LA to keep rolling Sunday.
