Celtic have been renowned over the years for bringing a number of players through their youth setup, including the likes of Callum McGregor, Kieran Tierney, and James Forrest, to name a few.

With Francis Turley on the bench against Hibernian this afternoon, the Northern Ireland Under-19 international could be on the verge of making his comPetitive first-team debut.

Turley certainly impressed in pre-season with a goal against Queen’s Park in a 6-4 win.

The Hoops midfielder looks to be one for the future and may very well play a part in today’s match off the bench.

Brendan Rodgers rates him highly, having previously given him a nod after his impressive pre-season performances.

Turley also recently signed a four-year deal with Celtic, demonstrating that his hard work in pre-season hasn’t gone unnoticed.

This is a welcome sign for everyone at the club.

With Daniel Kelly set to join Millwall in January, a new opportunity has opened up for Turley in the Celtic squad, and he has already made a great start.
