Celtic Women Announce Second Summer Signing
Celtic Women have announced their second signing of the summer, securing the services of 18-year-old Amy Richardson from Everton’s academy.
This move follows the recent signing of Shannon McGregor from Hibs, as manager Elena Sadiku looks to bolster her squad for the upcoming season.
Richardson, a left-sided defender, has agreed to a three-year deal with Celtic, signalling the club’s intent to strengthen their defence as they prepare to defend their first SWPL title.

The young defender’s arrival is part of an effort by Sadiku to imprint her vision on the team, following a successful debut season that saw her lead Celtic to a historic league victory.
Looking ahead, Sadiku’s ambitions for the team are clear as she aims not only to defend the SWPL title but also to comPete strongly in the Scottish Cup and League Cup, further establishing Celtic Women as a formidable force in Scottish women’s Football. To do this, she’ll need to get her own players into the side.
