A narrow 2-1 win over Dundee on Sunday kept the Celtic juggernaut going. James Forrest rolled back the years at Dens Park to score a crucial brace that sealed the three points.

It wasn’t the prettiest performance but at this stage of the season, the primary focus is winning, and that is what the Bhoys did.

Other than Forrest, it is difficult to think of any other standout Celts from the Game although, in the Dundee team, a few players caught the eye.

Luke McCowan seemed to be here, there, and everywhere in the middle of the park, teaming up well with Mo Sylla.

Perhaps the most impressive one of Tony Docherty’s men, though, was left-back Owen Dodgson.

On loan from English Premier League outfit Burnley, the 21-year-old got up and down the left-hand-side with ease.

Pundit Tam McManus thinks the Hoops should be considering the Englishman ahead of the summer. He said: [PLZ Soccer via Football Scotland] “I like the left-back, Dodgson. I think he’s on loan from Burnley. He’s been excellent, I think Celtic and Rangers should be looking at him.

“The two Games I’ve seen him, against both Celtic and Rangers, I thought he was really really good.”

Dodgson’s teaMMAte and fellow Dundee left-back – Owen Beck – was linked with Celtic in January after he was recalled by Liverpool. He eventually ended up returning to the City of Discovery but has been out since the beginning of March with a groin injury.

Dodgson has seamlessly replaced him in the team and he was a reliable outlet for his side at the weekend.

In the summer, there is no getting away from Celtic’s problem positions and left-back is undoubtedly one.
