This news comes as a blow to Tilio, who had been seeking to rejuvenate his form and gain consistent playing time after struggling with injuries and limited opportunities at Celtic.

Tilio’s return to AAMI Park in January had initially shown promise, marked by a goal against Newcastle Jets. However, his latest injury halts that progress and could see him out of action until the New Year, impacting both his club contributions and potential call-ups to the Australian national team.

Melbourne City has indicated that Tilio’s rehabilitation will be approached cautiously, focusing on ensuring his long-term fitness rather than rushing him back onto the field. This approach aims to mitigate the risk of further issues and support his recovery to full strength.

The winger was emotional as he went off injured. You’ve got to feel for him; he just can’t catch a break.

Hopefully, he can recover well and get back out onto the pitch soon.
