Celtic fans will be excited for the post-split fixtures after a dramatic trail of events in the Scottish Premiership this weekend.

Yesterday, the Bhoys saw off St Mirren in comfortable fashion at Parkhead, with goals from Reo Hatate, Kyogo Furuhashi, and Adam Idah securing all three points on home soil.

Heading into today’s solitary fixture, Celtic had a four-point advantage; nevertheless, Rangers held two Games in hand as they Travelled to face Ross County in Dingwall at lunchtime.

In shock fashion, Philippe Clement’s outfit were beaten 3-2 by the Staggies, which has left the Hoops’ gap at the Scottish Premiership intact, with their rivals now having only one Game to spare.

Nothing is won or lost at this stage in the season; however, Brendan Rodgers and company received a shot in the arm today in their quest to win a third successive league trophy.

Following a couple of days filled with title race drama, the Bhoys now turn their attention to next Saturday’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Aberdeen at Hampden next Saturday.

John Hartson’s funny reaction to today’s title race events

Taking to social media in the aftermath of developments at the Global Energy Stadium, former Celtic striker John Hartson has taken to social media in a light-hearted fashion to note his appreciation towards the end result.

Writing on X, the ex-Wales international made a simple statement to his followers, which read: ‘Who else is having a lovely Sunday’ (followed by a wink emoji).

It is good to hear Hartson, like many others, is enjoying the tail end of his weekend; nevertheless, we all know there is still work to do this season to achieve a domestic double.

Four victories in our last five fixtures, the outlier being a credible draw at Ibrox, indicates that Celtic are hitting form at the right time; however, Rodgers will be determined to make the Bhoys’ last five league fixtures count post-split.

Undoubtedly, a challenging run of Games will be in store in the coming weeks; nevertheless, the group of players the Irishman has at his disposal are more than good enough to get the job done.
