Celtic fans are all saying the same thing after what Chris Sutton heard about Rangers last night
The title race took another turn for Celtic last night after Rangers’ game-in-hand against Dundee was postponed once again.
Brendan Rodgers‘ side earned a draw against the Ibrox club at the weekend and the Celtic manager would have been hoping to head into this weekend’s clash with St Mirren knowing where he stood after the conclusion of the Dens Park spare fixture.
However, as it stands, another spate of poor weather caused another waterlogged pitch and the game is now postponed and will be played on the 18th of April.
Sutton said postponed game could have been moved to Ibrox
Chris Sutton loves to court controversy and also loves to put the boot into Rangers whenever he can. The difference is though, he criticises when they deserve it and not just to bow down to one side of the Glasgow divide like his colleague, Kris Boyd.
But before the postponed fixture was rearranged, Sutton shared what he had been told from ‘sources’ about a possible destination for the fixture.
Now it’s difficult to tell if Sutton is being serious or just at the wind-up but I would imagine that if it was true then it would be Sky Sports driving it as the broadcaster may well be feeling exasperated at the repeated disruption to its broadcasting schedules.
But could you imagine the ruckus this would have caused not just with the Celtic fans but across Scotland had the Game been moved to Ibrox in such a tight title race?

Celtic fans ask serious questions of Rangers after Dundee farce
Now that the game has been rearranged, Sutton’s tweet caused the Celtic fans to ask a serious question of Rangers and the SPFL now that the date messes up the scheduled final weekend before the top six split.
This Celtic fan asked why the game was not played last week:
Well, that would have made it before the crucial Glasgow Derby and that wouldn’t have been ideal for the Ibrox club now, would it? And it’s the same question that has been asked by many Celtic fans on Sutton’s post.
Peter Grant raises Rangers Dundee question and criticises SPFL
Peter Grant was seriously unhappy at the postponement and took aim at the SPFL for the fixture farce.
Grant said [The Go Radio Football Show], “Well, I’m going to say that when we are talking about the SPFL and the rules.
“So remember the Game was put off the first time and it’s supposed to be the first midweek it’s available. Well, that was the Wednesday before the Celtic match. So why was it not put on then when the weather was much better? and drier.
“And it proves that Motherwell played against them at the weekend. I’m not saying the pitch was brilliant, but the pitch would have been drier and there wouldn’t have been as much rain because the weather was much better.
“So I’ve absolutely no doubt that it would have been available so they can’t make the rules up to suit themselves.”
I suppose the one benefit we have is that by the time the game is played, Rangers could be four behind Celtic should Brendan Rodgers’ side beat St Mirren and Rangers lose to Ross County.
By then the pressure is wholly on the Ibrox club and the Dens Park fixture becomes a real must win Game.
