Celtic fan Ronan Hale has brilliantly reacted to his goal against the Hoops on Sunday, admitting he’ll likely get some grief from his family and friends for it.

The Bhoys maintained their perfect start to the league campaign in the Highlands, but it wasn’t as easy as the Travelling support would have hoped.

On-form County frontman Hale opened the scoring from the spot in the first half.

The 26-year-old’s initial penalty was saved by Kasper Schmeichel, but after the Dane was adjudged to be off his line, Hale got a second bite at the cherry and made no mistake.

A boyhood Hoops fan, he is certain he would have got some light-hearted slagging from his family and friends back home in Ireland when he scored against Celtic.

“I’m sure I would have got a bit of grief,” he said (Sky Sports).

“But I’m sure they would have been happy for me.

“Everyone knows I’m a fan [of Celtic], but listen, on the pitch, it’s nothing.”

Celtic’s European hangover was apparent as the half-time whistle blew in Dingwall. Down 1- 0 at the break, the Scottish Premiership champions improved in the second 45 and proved their mettle.

Alistair Johnston drew them level with his hip before Nicolas Kuhn came up trumps in the final minutes.

Heading to Dingwall after a 7-1 thumping at Signal Iduna Park midweek was never going to be easy, but Brendan Rodgers’ men pulled through and went into the international break on a positive note.
