Iniesta, widely regarded as one of the greatest players in History, called time on his illustrious 22-year career, which saw him achieve unparalleled success with Barcelona and Spain.

Kyogo, who played alongside Iniesta during his five-year spell at Japanese club Vissel Kobe, shared a heartfelt message on social media, reflecting on their time together and the impact Iniesta had on his career.

Kyogo wrote: It seemed short but it was long, intense and special time.

“Being able to play together, sharing the time together.

“My precious days that I experienced so many things and improved myself.

“I never forget these and will never do.

“I really appreciate it. Thank you.”

Iniesta’s retirement marks the end of an era for a player who was part of Spain’s golden generation, forming a legendary midfield trio with Xavi Hernandez and Sergio Busquets. After spending the majority of his career at Barcelona, where he won numerous domestic and international titles, Iniesta moved to Japan to join Vissel Kobe in 2018, where he continued to inspire his teaMMAtes, including Kyogo, with his experience and class on the pitch.

He was one of the best midfielders to ever play the Game, not many would argue otherwise.

Kyogo is one of the lucky players that got to play in the same team as the legend, even if he was past his peak.
