Celine Dion joyfully plays air guitar during surprise appearance at Bruins game amid stiff person syndrome battle
Celine Dion isn’t letting her stiff person syndrome diagnosis stop her from showing off her talents.
The “That’s the Way It Is” singer made a surprise appearance at the Boston Bruins Game at TD Garden with her 13-year-old twin sons, Nelson and Eddy, on Thursday night and was caught by the cameras rocking out to Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer.”
The clip, shared to social media, showed Dion, 55, standing up and playing air guitar for the crowd.
Before the game, Dion and her sons entered the Bruins’ locker room, where the Grammy winner read the players’ starting lineup — and even cracked a joke about some of their states of undress.
Rather than simply read the names aloud, Dion sang some of their monikers and even poked fun at a few of them.
“Now, THAT’S a legendary lineup read,” the team wrote alongside the video.
Despite Dion’s unwavering support, the New York Rangers ultimately defeated the Bruins 5-2.
The “My Heart Will Go On” singer made her first public appearance in four years in November 2023 when she showed up at the Montreal Canadiens’ game in Las Vegas with her twins and firstborn son, 23-year-old René-Charles Angélil.

Although Dion’s sister Claudette Dion claimed the famed songstress had “lost control of her muscles,” Celine made an unexpected appearance onstage at the 2024 Grammys in February and brought tears to the crowd’s eyes.
Backstage, the “I’m Alive” performer happily sang alongside Grammy-nominated songwriter Sonyaé during an impromptu showcase of their stunning vocals.
Despite the health setbacks she has experienced since her 2022 diagnosis, Celine told fans that she is “determined” to perform again.
“Trying to overcome this autoimmune disorder has been one of the hardest experiences of my life, but I remain determined to one day get back onto the stage and to live as normal of a life as possible,” she wrote on Instagram in March.
“I am deeply grateful for the love and support from my kids, family, team and all of you!” she added alongside a photo with her sons.
