Bronwyn joined the cast during season 5, following Monica Garcia’s exit.

During a season 5 cast trip, Bronwyn learned that costar Lisa is close to the parents of Gwen’s father, whom she never met and is dead. Bronwyn explained that Gwen’s father and his side of the family had never offered to be a part of the teen’s life, until Lisa attempted to build a bridge between the estranged family.

“Gwen is the only individual in this scenario who didn’t make any choices. And she is the only one in this scenario who feels the weight of all these choices that everybody else made for her,” Bronwyn said during a confessional.
