The Cleveland Guardians and the Milwaukee Brewers will close their interleague series this Sunday from Progressive Field. Cleveland struck back in Game two with a two-run victory, 4-2.

Brewers Betting Preview

Milwaukee moved to 39-37 after falling to Cleveland. The Brewers have now traded their last six Games, and for the moment, they’d like that trend to continue this Sunday. The Milwaukee offense is 4.56 scoring runs per Game, while batting .231, with a .307 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.95 ERA, with a 1.31 WHIP. Willy Adames powered the Game one victory with five RBIs, and he’s posting splits of .213/12/34. Christian Yelich has recorded a hit in eight of the last ten Games,  and he leads the Brewers in hits (72), with 33 RBI. Wilson Contreras has matched his energy with hits in seven of his last nine Games, with splits of.245/8/25. Rowdy Tellez leads the Brew Crew in home runs (12), with 31 RBI.

Corbin Burnes (5-5, 3.96 ERA, 51 Ks) will take the mound for Milwaukee. The sixth-year pitcher reverted back to his early season form in a loss to Arizona last week, allowing a season-worst seven runs in five innings pitched. Burnes has dealt with inconsistency problems this season, and after allowing three runs or more in each of his last four road starts, it’s unclear how he’ll come out in Cleveland this Sunday.

Guardians Betting Preview

Cleveland moved to 37-39 after defeating Milwaukee. The Guardians got back into the win column to complete a strong week of action, and they’ll look to close on a high note here Sunday. The Cleveland offense is scoring 3.85 runs per Game, while batting .229, with a .304 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.78 ERA, with a 1.28 WHIP. Jose Ramirez had another multi-hit Game in Saturday’s win, and he leads the Guardians in hits (84), with 12 homers and 46 RBI. Josh Naylor plated a run in the Game two win, and he leads Cleveland in RBI with 56. Andres Gimenez has collected a hit in seven of the last eight Games, and he’s posting splits of .242/5/27.

Aaron Civale (2-2, 2.67 ERA, 22 Ks) will get the ball for Cleveland. The fifth-year righty handled Business against Oakland last time out, striking out six in 6.2 innings pitched. Civale has held teams to two runs or less in four starts since returning this month, and he’ll look to keep things going against a struggling Milwaukee lineup.

Milwaukee vs Cleveland Trends

Milwaukee is 33-43 against the spread this season, with a 32-40-3 O/U record. Cleveland is 36-40 ATS this year, with a 29-43-3 over/under record.

Corey’s Free Pick

Cleveland rewarded our trust by responding to the Game one loss with a win, and I like barking back up that tree here in the series finale. Milwaukee’s production outside of Christian Yelich continues to be scarce, and with a steady Aaron Civale set to make the home start, the visitors could be in for another slow day at the plate. Corbin Burnes has shown vulnerability on the road this season, and this feels like a contest the Guardians can bring home. Back closeout Cleveland this Sunday, as they’ve won eight straight series finales.
