The Cincinnati Reds will host the Atlanta Braves for Game two of their three-Game set this Saturday from Great American Ballpark. Cincy took Game one in a high-scoring battle, 11-10.

Braves Betting Preview

Atlanta moved to 48-27 after falling to Cincinnati. The Braves had their rally cut short on Friday, and they’ll look to avenge that loss here in Game two. The Atlanta offense is scoring 3.83 runs per Game, while batting .257, with a .337 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.55 ERA, with a 1.27 WHIP. Ronald Acuna Jr. has scored a runin eight of the last ten Games, and he’s leading Atlanta in BA (.329) and hits (97), with 16 HR and 47 RBI. Matt Olson went yard twice in the Game loss to Cincy,  and he leads ATL in home runs (23) and RBI (55). Ozzie Albies has plated a run in five of the last eight contests, and he’s right behind Olson for the team-lead in RBI at 53.

Jared Shuster (2-2, 4.99 ERA, 51 Ks) will get the ball for Atlanta. The rookie lefty kept things going last week against Colorado, holding them to just one run through 5.2 innings pitched to earn his third straight winning decision. Shuster has been very reliable since being recalled back up in mid-May, and he’ll look to cool down the Reds here.

Reds Betting Preview

Cincinnati moved to 41-35 after defeating Atlanta. The Reds picked up a big time win yesterday, and they’ll look to provide some more fireworks this weekend. The Cincinnati offense is scoring 3.78 runs per Game, while batting .257, with a .334 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.96 ERA, with a 1.46 WHIP. Elly De La Cruz went out and hit the cycle in just his 15th big league Game, and he’s hitting now batting (.361). Jonathan India has scored a run in four of the last six Games, and he leads Cincy in hits (73), with splits of .266/10/39. Jake Fraley has gone deep in back-to-back Games to bring his team-leads to ten homers and 49 RBI. reds legend Joey Votto provided fireworks in the Game one win by homering twice.

Graham Ashcraft (3-5, 6.78 ERA, 50 Ks) will get the call for Cincinnati. The second-year pitcher will be making his return from a 15-day injured list here against the Braves. Ashcraft opened the season with a sharp month of April, before an abysmal stretch in May would wash it away. Ashcraft dropped his two starts prior to the IL stint, but he did pitch very well in his early season matchup in Atlanta, striking out seven through six innings of work, and he’ll look to replicate that here at Great American.

Atlanta vs Cincinnati Trends

Atlanta is 36-39 against the spread this season, with a 42-30-3 O/U record. Cincinnati is 48-28 ATS this year, with a 43-33 over/under record.

Corey’s Free Pick

Game one served as a prop bettors dream Friday night, and while the second contest may be a lot slower, it’s going to be hard to look away from the momentum Cincinnati has brewing right now. I can’t say we’ve seen a call-up alter a team’s season so swiftly, as the arrival of Elly De La Cruz has injected new life into the city. Joey Votto’s return has also served as the perfect storm, and this team has a real chance to make noise this year in the NL Central. All respect to Atlanta here, but Cindy really has it going right now. Back Cincinnati to take Game two, and give the Over a look as well, in case we see strong production from both sides again.
