The St. Louis Blues and Dallas Stars wrap up their regular season schedules tonight when they clash at American Airlines Center.

With the hosts already having clinched top seed in the Central Division, we could see Dallas resting most of its top players tonight, leaving some extra room for Blues star Jordan Kyrou to keep up his hot streak.

My analysis
It’s been a disappointing finish to the season for the St. Louis Blues, who will miss the playoffs for the second straight year, but an impressive conclusion to the campaign for Jordan Kyrou.

The Blues forward has picked up the pace in April, notching six goals in his last six games while carrying a three-game goal streak into tonight’s contest against the Dallas Stars. I’ll look for him to extend that streak to four as my best bet.

Kyrou has been St. Louis’ biggest goal-scoring threat this season with a team-leading 31 tallies and 3.1 shots per game. His shot rate has increased drastically since March 30, jumping up to 4.38 per game and putting him in the Top 10 league-wide over that span — a big reason why he’s seen more pucks hit the back of the cage.

With the Stars already having locked up first place in the Central Division, they don’t have much left to play for tonight and will probably be resting many of their top players. Scott Wedgewood will also likely get the start after allowing six goals on a combined 37 shots (.837 SV%) across his last two appearances — another reason to like Kyrou tonight.

Tonight gives us a good opportunity to roll with the Blues as the road dogs as they’ll at least be looking to play for pride in their final game of the season.

Nothing has been confirmed by Wednesday morning but we generally see teams sit key players in their final Game before the playoffs, so we could see the Stars running a skeleton crew tonight.

I also like the Over 6 as both the Blues (3.43 gpg) and Stars (3.33 gpg) have been scoring at a decent clip this month.
