be.The Canadian man set a world record for growing the heaviest radish weighing 29 kg, making everyone curious.
Damien Allard, a farming enthusiast from Carleton-sur-Mer, Quebec, has broken the world record for growing the largest turnips. According to the official Guinness World Records website, Allard has grown not one, but three turnips that have broken the previous record. The previous record for the heaviest turnip was 17.7 kilograms, but Allard’s heaviest turnip weighed a whopping 29.00 kilograms, while the other two weighed 22.9 and 24.4 kilograms.
Allard began his journey of growing huge turnips in 2016, when he grew a root that weighed seven kilograms. He discovered the world record for the heaviest turnip and made it his mission to break it. He worked tirelessly for over three years to grow turnips that would break the record.
Allard sowed his turnips in 2020 and spent a lot of time nourishing and taking care of them. When they were finally large enough, he weighed them and discovered that he had broken the previous world record not just once, but three times. Allard told a Canadian radio channel that he had been very serious and intense about growing his turnips for the past two years and had a feeling that he would break the record this year.
Allard’s achievement demonstrates that patience and hard work are essential to achieving seemingly impossible goals. Meanwhile, the Guinness World Record for the longest turnip is held by Joe Atherton, who grew a turnip that was 13 feet 4 inches in length in Malvern, United Kingdom on September 28, 2019.
