B83.Dan Snyder, former owner of the Washington Commanders, slashes the price of his Maryland home by $14 million.
According to property records, a portion of the estate was acquired from the estate of Jordan’s King Hussein and Queen Noor in 2001 for $8.64 million. Since then, Snyder has purchased several adjacent parcels of land, expanding the estate to a total of 15 acres, as indicated in the listing.
The 30,000-square-foot megamansion features a 24-foot limestone fireplace.
The primary residence boasts a grand foyer with coffered ceilings and a 24-foot limestone fireplace, leading into the double-height living room offering picturesque views of the Potomac River. It connects seamlessly to the dining room and library, as well as a balcony overlooking the water. Additionally, the residence features a chef’s kitchen, a breakfast solarium, a gym, a spa, an office, a mahogany-paneled club room complete with a wet bar and billiards, a wine cellar, and a home theater, according to the listing.
The home features a commercial kitchen.
The residence features five bedroom suites, with the primary suite occupying the entire third floor. Additionally, the estate comprises a two-bedroom guest house complete with a spiral staircase, kitchen, living and dining rooms, as well as a gate house, a six-car garage, and a manager’s house.
Surrounded by meticulously manicured lawns and English gardens, the property offers a tranquil setting.
It also overlooks the Potomac River.
Former Washington CoMMAnders owner Dan Snyder, who founded Snyder Communications, a marketing company sold for $2.5 billion in 2000, held ownership of the team from 1999 until earlier this year. He sold the franchise to a group led by private-equity magnate Josh Harris for $6 billion, as reported by The Wall Street Journal. Harris, co-founder of Apollo Global Management and co-owner of the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers, now heads the team’s ownership group.

Following unanimous approval from NFL owners for the sale, Dan Snyder was promptly fined a record $60 million after an investigation substantiated allegations of sexual misconduct made by a woman. Additionally, another former employee accused the team of improperly withholding around $11 million meant to be distributed among the league’s other 31 teams. This fine comes after a previous $10 million penalty in 2021, following an investigation into the team’s hostile workplace environment, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.
