Platycercus adscitus, also known as the Pale-headed Rosella, is a medium-sized parrot found in Australia, mainly in the eastern and southeastern regions of the country.

The Pale-headed Rosella has a distinctive and colorful plumage, with a blue head and wings, a bright red breast, and a white belly. It has a short, strong bill that it uses to crack open seeds and nuts.

The Pale-headed Rosella is known for its harsh and raucous call, which is a series of screeching and squawking notes. It feeds mainly on seeds, fruits, and nectar, and is often found in small flocks.

Although the Pale-headed Rosella is not considered to be threatened, its population is declining due to habitat loss and fragmentation. Its conservation status is currently listed as “Least Concern” by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
