Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024: Four Hong Kong Bars Make it to the 51-100 List

As Hong Kong gears up to host Asia’s 50 Best Bars event for the second consecutive year later this week, an extended list of bars has been released. This year, different bars from 19 cities across the region were on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024 51-100. For Hong Kong, four bars made the cut with Mizunara: The Library leading at number 66. It also climbed 20 spots from its ranking last year.

Singapore took the lead with a total of eight bars, followed by Bangkok with six, and Tokyo with five. The list also featured 15 newcomers with Seoul’s Soko taking the 51st spot.

Four Hong Kong bars named in Asia’s list of best bars

Following closely at number 67 is Honky Tonks Tavern. Other local bars that ranked include The Old Man (No. 71) and Tell Camellia (No. 97).

Meanwhile, eight cocktail bars from Singapore were included on the 100 extended list. The best performer was Republic (No.57), followed by No Sleep Club (No.60) and Stay Gold Flamingo (No.63).

Also included were The Elephant Room (No.65), Manhattan (No.69), Cat Bite Club (No.77), 28 Hongkong Street (No.78), and Last Word (No.93). This was the first time Cat Bite Club made the list after opening last year.

Tokyo was next with five places. Three new entrants: Tokyo Confidential (No.53), Folklore (No.74), and Bulgari Ginza Bar (No.86) were joined by Gold Bar (No.76) and High Five (No.87).

Besides Soko, Seoul was represented by Charles H (No.95) and new entry Gong Gan (No.89).

Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, and New Delhi tied with three spots each on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024 51-100 list. Leading the Malaysian capital was Three X Co (No.56) followed by Coley (No.70) and Junglebird (No.80). From Taipei, To Infinity & Beyond (No.61) was joined by two newcomers, Under Lab (No.72) and Wu (Nothingness) at No.94. Lair (No.68) was the latest entry from New Delhi, together with Sidecar (No.84) and Home (No.96).

Bars from Ho Chi Minh City, Nara, Shanghai, and Tainan occupied two positions on the list. Several cities held one spot, including Penang, Mumbai, Kumamoto, Kyoto, and Hanoi.

Jakarta and Muntinlupa City in the Philippines also made their entrance into Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024 51-100 list with The St. Regis Bar (No.88) and Southbank Cafe + Lounge (No.82) respectively.

Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024 will be announced at a ceremony at Rosewood Hong Kong on 16 July. See below for all the winners on the 51-100 list.
