Arsenal have announced the extension of their longstanding partnership with Emirates, adding five more years onto the sponsorship agreement that first began in 2006.

It is already the longest-serving front of shirt sponsorship in Premier League History and will now run until at least 2028, at which point it will have been 22 years.

"After 17 years of incredible moments and working together to bring our global communities closer together, Emirates is woven into the fabric of Arsenal. Emirates has been ever present on the front of our men’s, women’s, and academy team shirts, and our home in north London has featured the Emirates name since it opened in 2006," a statement from the club read.

"The globally renowned airline has also taken us on many pre-season tours, helping to connect us with supporters around the world. Most recently, alongside Emirates we launched the ‘Global Gooners’ campaign bringing friends and families together from all over the world at Emirates Stadium."

Emirates famously bought the naming rights to Arsenal’s Ashburton Grove stadium prior to it opening in 2006. As part of a wider £150m deal with the club in 2012, the naming rights agreement was extended until 2028, with the shirt sponsorship contract also now aligned with that date.
