The Kansas City Royals will host the Los Angeles Angels for Game two of their weekend series this Saturday from Kauffman Stadium on FS1. LAA took Game one in a low-scoring battle, 3-0.

Angels Betting Preview

Los Angeles moved to 40-32 after defeating Kansas City. The Angels find themselves in the midst of a great month of action, and they’ll look to keep rolling this weekend. The LAA offense is scoring 4.16 runs per Game, while batting .252, with a .331 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.33 ERA, with a 1.27 WHIP. Shohei Ohtani followed up his amazing series against Texas with a double in the Game one victory, and he leads the Halos in batting (.301), home runs (22) and RBI (54). Mike Trout has scored a run in four of the last five Games, and he’s posting splits of .248/14/37. Brandon Drury drove in a pair of runs versus KC last night, and he’s up to 31 RBI, with 10 homers on the season.  (10 HR, 30

Griffin Canning (5-2, 4.47 ERA, 25 Ks) will get the call for Los Angeles. The fourth-year pitcher did enough to earn the win against Seattle on Sunday, striking out seven in five innings pitched. Canning delivered three straight quality starts prior to facing the Mariners and he’ll look to capitalize on this manageable spot against Kansas City here.

Royals Betting Preview

Kansas City comes in at 18-51 after losing to Los Angeles. The Royals dropped their tenth Game in a row last night, and it’s unclear if the tide will turn this weekend with a hot Angels team in town. The Kansas City offense is scoring 3.35 runs per Game, while batting .231, with a .295 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 5.29 ERA, with a 1.47 WHIP. Salvador Perez continues to be the pulse in KC, and despite having last night off, he leads the team in HR (14) and RBI (37). Nick Pratto has recorded a hit in eight of the last ten Games, and he’s leading the Royals in batting at .278. Bobby Witt Jr. produced runs in the final two Games of their Cincy series, and he’s first on the team in hits (68), with 11 home runs and 31 RBI.

Mike Mayers (1-2, 5.06 ERA, 16 Ks) will take the mound for Kansas City. The eighth-year pitcher found trouble in Baltimore last weekend, allowing four runs in five innings to the Orioles en route to a second straight loss. Mayers last three starts have been on the road, and in his lone home spot, he tossed eight strikeouts in 4.2 innings against Detroit, while giving up just one run..

Anaheim vs Kansas City Trends

LAA Angels are 37-35 against the spread this season, with a 34-32-6 O/U record. Kansas City is 22-47 ATS this year, with a 29-38-2 over/under record.

Corey’s Free Pick

There’s a storm brewing in Kansas City, and it might not stop until the weekend passes, as the Angels are playing some of their best baseball in recent memory. LAA showed up big time in their divisional series with Texas, and after carrying momentum carried into Game one, I think they keep things going Saturday. Of course anything can happen, but a letdown feels unlikely here, with KC slumping at a maximum rate. Back the Angels to take Game two at Kauffman.
