Witness to her fitness! Amanda Bynes shared with fans how she’s making major progress in her weight loss goals.
“Down 6lbs! 154lbs now,” the Easy A star, 38, wrote in an Instagram Story post on Tuesday, November 5, along with her step count for the days and her caloric burn total.
Amanda logged a total of 14,895 steps, which translated into 12 flights of stairs and 6.60 miles. The app showed she burned “481/320 CAL” for the day along with a red circle that revealed she completed her step goal for the day. The top of the screen showed she had also reached her goal on Monday, November 4, proving she’s been steadily working hard at her fitness goals.
The Hairspray actress previously revealed in March that she gained “over 20 lbs” during the course of several months “from being depressed,” she told fans in an Instagram Story at the time.
Amanda wrote that she was trying to become more disciplined, sharing, “I’m doing a lot better now and have learned to do the opposite action when I don’t feel like working out or eating clean.”
The Thousand Oaks, California, native told fans her current weight was “162 lbs” but that she hoped to lose more than 50 pounds, as she wanted “to get back to 110 lbs.”
Amanda previously showed off her workout attire in an August 24 nstagram post showing her in a black Sports bra and matching leggings while settling into her new Los Angeles apartment. Fans were thrilled that after her years of mental Health struggles, Amanda was looking Healthy and rebuilding her life.
“You look great … better Healthier and stronger every time I see a picture! Love your new place. You’re doing amazing,” one person wrote in the comments, while another gushed, “You look good Amanda!!!!”
“We love you Amanda!!!!! You have survived the unthinkable. You have so much support!!!! We want to see you win!!,” a user told the former teen actress, while another person cheered, “In case nobody told you lately, you’re doing great! And you’re enough.”
Amanda’s rocky road began in April 2012, when she was arrested for DUI after hitting a police car, for which she pleaded not guilty. She was then involved in several other traffic accidents. Her DUI was eventually dismissed in a plea deal she reached in February 2014, where Amanda received three years of probation.
On July 22, 2013, Amanda started a fire in the driveway of a neighbor’s home in Thousand Oaks, causing her to be put on a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold. Two weeks later, a judge extended Amanda’s involuntary psychiatric hold to 30 days and gave her parents temporary conservatorship over the former star.
Amanda enrolled as a student at Los Angeles’ Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in December 2013, three months after checking into a Malibu, California, rehab center. She quit going to classes but resumed her studies at FIDM in October 2015.
In December 2017, Amanda’s lawyer told Page Six that she was finishing her FIDM studies and considering a return to acting, telling the outlet, “In 2018, she looks forward to completing fashion school and dipping her toe back into acting. She has had several offers but is waiting for the right one to come along for a comeback.”

“In the last several years, I have been working hard to improve my Health so that I can live and work independently, and I will continue to prioritize my well-being in this next chapter,” Amanda said in a statement after the ruling. “I am excited about my upcoming endeavors — including my fragrance line — and look forward to sharing more when I can.”
Even though Amanda scrubbed her Instagram page of photos in April, she told her followers in an April 9 Instagram Story that she was “back at school.”
“Since I haven’t passed the board exam yet to get my manicurist license, I started back at school to study manicurist theory and to practice doing acrylics before I take the test again so I’ll be good to go when I get a job at a nail salon,” she wrote.
