Bollywood star Akshay Kumar has disclosed that he once worked as a 'peon' at a Travel agency in Kolkata in 1984, earning around $10 to $15 a month.

The revelation came during the promotion of his film Raksha Bandhan, where he shared his connection to the iconic Globe Cinema, which is set to reopen in a new avatar on 8 October.

Akshay Kumar, who was around 15 or 16 at the time, said he frequently watched films at the Globe Cinema while working at the local Travel agency.

Satyadeep Saha, the current manager of the cinema, has invited Akshay Kumar to attend the reopening ceremony as a special guest.

Akshay has often mentioned his early jobs in interviews, recalling how he supported himself through modest earnings before making it big in Bollywood.

Akshay's approach to handling feedback

Earlier, Akshay Kumar reflected on how he used to handle feedback in the early stages of his career.

He admitted that earlier, personal criticism often left a more significant mark, affecting his confidence.

However, over time, he realised the importance of filtering out the noise and focusing on constructive advice.

His journey from taking every comment to heart to selectively embracing meaningful feedback played a crucial role in shaping the actor he is today.

He highlighted that constructive feedback, especially from those experienced in the industry, holds value in guiding his career choices.

Akshay spoke about learning to recognise criticism aimed at improvement, mentioning how it has often led him to make changes in his work, both in terms of his acting and script selection.

His ability to transform feedback into growth opportunities set him apart from others in the industry.

Reflecting on his past films, Akshay also shared how even box-office failures offered important lessons.

Rather than viewing them as setbacks, he considered them learning experiences, pushing him to explore more diverse roles and genres.

His openness to feedback and willingness to adapt have remained pivotal in sustaining his long-lasting career in Bollywood.
