A New Place to Eat in Cornwall, New York
In January of 2023, I shared the news that one of my favorite places in my hometown of Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York was for sale. I don't no why, call it life gets too busy but after the winter of 2023 I lost track of whether Paitiner's ever sold.
Then recently in a conversation with someone I met who lives in Cornwall, I found out that it did sell but was closed. I was bummed to get that news because in my head I thought I could go back there anytime.
Painter's Tavern Re-Opens After Almost Two Years in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NewYork
The person I met told me that the current owners were hoping to re-open soon so that is when I decided to keep an eye on Cornwall news so I would know when Painter's re-opened. Today that pay-off and by the look of how many folks commented I would say I am not the only person looking forward to getting back to Painter's.
My History with the bar and restaurant goes back to when it was in its original location which is now the Storm King Lounge and Fare. The original Painter's Tavern and even the new one were always the place everyone would gather when we came back home. During college holidays, family visits once we moved out of Cornwall, and even class reunions, we all always managed to meet up at Painter's.
The original gentlemen who opened Painter's Tavern and moved it to the Old Cornwall Inn were ahead of their time. They understood the idea of a boutique motel with a bar and restaurant long before it was trendy.
The new owners shared that they poured their heart and soul into opening the doors again so you know it is going to be special to go back, not to mention that the menu looks amazing.
Painter's Menu looks amazingly delicious so I may have to go and enjoy their Strip Steak then I am sure I will be adding them to our Steak Restaurant list.
