At the Valspar Championship in Palm Harbor in Florida., fifty-year-old Stewart Cink fired a stellar 4-under 67, thrusting him into a five-way tie for the lead. However, play was halted before the second round could be completed due to darkness at Innisbrook Resort’s Copperhead Course.

Despite the challenging rainy conditions, with Cink sharing the lead with first-round leader Kevin Streelman (72), Chandler Phillips (68), Brendon Todd (69), and Canada’s Mackenzie Hughes (68), all at 6-under 136.

Fifteen players were unable to finish their second rounds and will resume play on Saturday at 9 a.m. Among them, Rico Hoey of the Philippines was 1 under through 16 holes. Notably, Justin Thomas, Lucas Glover, and Irishman Seamus Power are part of a group trailing just one stroke behind the leaders, each posting a 69 on Friday.

Despite hitting a water ball off the tee at the par-3 13th and enduring a double bogey, Justin Thomas remains a strong contender, boasting six birdies and two bogeys. His performance would have placed him in a tie for the lead if not for a late bogey at the 18th, where his second shot found a greenside bunker.

The projected cut line for the tournament was even par. Unfortunately, Jordan Spieth stumbled in the second round with a 74, landing him on the wrong side of that line at 1 over. Similarly, Keegan Bradley, Sam Burns, Brian Harman, and Tony Finau are all poised to miss the cut, with respective scores of 1 over, 1 over, 2 over, and 5 over.
