Bronny James’ decision to enter the 2024 NBA Draft initially surprised a lot of people.

Although he is the son of arguably the greatest basketball player of all time, Bronny put up a mere 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.2 blocks per Game during his freshman season at USC this past year.

Are those NBA numbers? Probably not. But what Bronny has working in his favor is that the 2024 NBA Draft is a historically bad one.

That has opened up a window for him to get selected.

As noted by The Spun, two frontrunners have quietly emerged for Bronny’s services.

“The odds have been revealed for the teams with the best chance of drafting the son of NBA legend LeBron James, and two teams are among the favorites to make that decision,” the report noted.

“According to FanDuel, the Los Angeles Lakers (+400) and the New York Knicks (+800) are the teams with the best chances to draft the younger James.

“LeBron appears to be committed to the Los Angeles Lakers for the foreseeable future, and he’s expressed his desire to play with his son before he retires. The Knicks are also potential suitors for LeBron if things go south with the Lakers, making them another option for Bronny in the draft.”

As noted by Rachel Nichols this past week, the Lakers have a clear plan in place as it pertains to Bronny.

Likewise, the front office already has a plan in place in the event that they have a first-round draft pick to use either on Bronny or in a possible trade for Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young.

Will Bronny ultimately be playing for either the Knicks or Lakers come next season? Time will tell.
