Will Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez play against Al-Nassr? Possible starting lineup for Inter Miami
Lionel Messi and Inter Miami will continue their series of friendlies ahead of the new MLS season when they take on Al-Nassr on Thursday.
After losing 4-3 to fellow Saudi outfit Al-Hilal in Riyadh on Monday, the Florida club are now preparing to face an Al-Nassr side without star player Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been ruled out through injury.
Messi and Suárez on the score sheet
Messi played 87 minutes in Monday’s defeat and could once again get the nod as he looks to build on his match fitness going into the new 2024 MLS campaign.
New signing Suárez has had his injury issues but he will be hoping to once again feature alongside Messi and lead the line in attack.
Both Messi and Luis Suárez scored against Al-Hilal but it was not enough as the home side led 3-1 at the break and added a fourth in the second half to run out winners over the MLS side.
Possible Inter Miami XI vs Al-Nassr
Key Miami men Messi, Luis Suárez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets are all expected to be available for Miami head coach Tata Martino.
Martino could start Thursday’s match with the following XI: Callender; Yedlin, Allen, Kryvtsov, Avilés, Alba; Gressel, Busquets, Taylor; Messi, Suárez.
Al-Nassr boss Luis Castro has confirmed that Ronaldo will miss out due to a muscle complaint and with the Portuguese forward now unavailable, Inter Miami have a greater chance of bouncing back from their defeat earlier in the week, while Messi and Ronaldo will have to wait a bit longer before crossing paths again.
