During this season, the Austrian team announced they would present different car color schemes on three occasions, backed under their REBL CUSTMS fan project. The first opportunity is the race on the legendary track that hosted the first race in the History of Formula One 74 years ago.

What is the REBL CUSTMS project?

The car painting for the upcoming weekend was designed by fans within the REBL CUSTMS project, allowing everyone everywhere to have a canvas to express their creativity. The race at Silverstone is the first where Red Bull fans can see the new car design. The F1 and Red Bull Racing fans will get the opportunity to see the remaining two creative solutions in Singapore and the United States. REBL CUSTMS handed the fans the wheel to the entire car as a canvas, allowing them to pick from a bespoke toolkit of patterns, colors, and sticker packs. All this while encouraging designers to plan a livery to complement the three races this season.

As stated in Red Bull’s press release, the car patterns at those three races are inspired by striking paint jobs during the team’s 20 years of existence. The design for “Silverstone” is the work of Chalaj Suvanish, from Thailand. He was inspired by the camouflage paintwork for testing in 2015, and what is striking is the shade called stallion red.
