Netflix got all of us invested in the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, even those of us who aren’t Cowboys fans, or even NFL fans. The high-paced, busy lives of the elite dancers is captivating. The process to audition and actually make the team is intense and cutthroat. And it’s hard to look away.

Since its release in June, the seven-part documentary series, “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders”, has been viewed by millions and people can’t seem to get enough of it. Unfortunately, although a season two has not been ruled out, the 2024 auditions are not being filmed currently. So some of the dancers we got to know in season one who are returning to try out again this year, we won’t get to follow as closely as we did with the series.

When and how will we know the 2024 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad?

Lucky for us, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have social media, and they post regular updates on their Instagram. This year’s auditions see the return of one fan favorite who didn’t make it last season - Charly Barby. Charly was one of the only redheads and was one of the last two cut before the final 32 were officially chosen on the last day of training camp. She didn’t let it get her spirits down though, and now she’s back at it again to prove she has what it takes to be a member of the DCC.

The girls who didn’t make the DCC cut: where are they now?

Also returning to tryouts this season is Kelly Villares, who last season changed her hair color from blonde to brown as part of the DCC makeover. She’s truly committed to becoming a member and although she didn’t make the cut last year, she’s back again for auditions this year with high hopes. She said on the series that becoming a DCC has been a dream of hers since she was a little girl.

One character who did make the squad last season and who got a lot of screen time in the series is Reece Allman. Reece was a rookie last year and is trying out for her second season this year. Yes, if you watched the series you’ll know that even the veterans are not guaranteed a spot. However, if rumors are to be believed, Reece will not only make the squad again this year but may even be part of the elite 12-member “Show Group”, who both sing and dance.

So when will we find out for sure who made it to the 2024 DCC squad???

Well, the Dallas Cowboys cheerleader training camp began on June 20, so the time has almost come to announce the final 32. This Friday, July 19 is the final day of training camp for the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. And with the start of NFL season just around the corner, the practices for those final 32 will begin soon after that. Keep checking the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders’ website and Instagram to find out who made the 2024 DCC squad. The wait will soon be over!
