City Hunter

This film directed by Yûichi Satô is based on the sensational comic book City Hunter and is set in Shinjuku, Tokyo in the present day. The narrative centres on Ryo, who is searching for the person who killed his colleague, Hideyuki Makimura. In order to discover the truth, he teams up with Makimura’s sister Kaori, and the two become a new team. Ryohei Suzuki, Misato Morita, Masanobu Andô and Fumino Kimura play pivotal roles in this suspenseful film.

The plot revolves around Asmara, a clever and charming young girl from a wealthy Bengaluru family who is eager to spend her summer vacation in Canada. However, when she finds herself at Tibbri Road—her maternal grandparents’ middle-class neighbourhood—her plans take an unexpected turn. Directed by Debbie Rao, Anushka Sen, Tanvi Azmi and Kush Kotwani play pivotal roles in this rom-com series.

Dead Boy Detectives

Cast: George Rexstrew, Jayden Revri, Kassius Nelson and Briana Cuoco
The same-titled DC Comics characters serve as the inspiration for the supernatural horror detective-comedy series. The narrative centres on Edwin Paine and Charles Rowland as they make the decision to remain on Earth rather than go to the afterlife. The two look into crimes involving the paranormal while they are here on Earth. The show stars George Rexstrew, Jayden Revri, Kassius Nelson and Briana Cuoco in major roles and is created by Steve Yockey.

Ruslaan

Cast: Aayush Sharma, Sushrii Mishraa, Vidya Malvade, Jagapati Babu
Ruslaan is an upcoming action thriller film starring Aayush Sharma and Sushrii Mishraa in pivotal roles. Looking at the trailer, the plot seems to revolve around Ruslaan who leads two lives – on one hand, he is a gifted musician; and on the other, he is a ruthless killer. The film is directed by Karan Butani and seems to have a good blend of action, romance and drama.

Challengers

This romantic-Sports drama follows Tashi, a former Tennis prodigy turned coach who is married to a champion on a losing streak. Her strategy for her husband’s redemption takes a surprising turn when he must face off against his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend. The film is directed by Luca Guadagnino and stars Zendaya, Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor in major roles.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

Cast: Mckenna Grace, Emily Alyn Lind, Finn Wolfhard, Paul Rudd
The legendary New York City firehouse, where the original Ghostbusters elevated ghost-busting to a new level, welcomes the Spengler family back. Together, the new and old Ghostbusters must battle an evil power unleashed by the discovery of an ancient item in order to defend their home and prevent a second ice age. This film starring Mckenna Grace, Emily Alyn Lind, Finn Wolfhard and Paul Rudd has already been released in the US and has received good reviews so far. The film is directed by Gil Kenan and now it is opening in Indian theatres this week.

Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story
