Businesses use gold verification badges to verify themselves and distinguish them from other accounts. As a part of the verification, the company adds badges showing miniature versions of their Twitter profile pictures to the accounts of anyone associated with them.
Both moves are part of the plan to monetize the platform and increase falling revenues.
As of now, Twitter has not officially announced the charges for the Gold verification.
