Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has several areas in his squad that need addressing this summer.

One particular part of the team that must be strengthened is the defence. Greg Taylor is currently the only senior left-back at the club while the situations of Gustaf Lagerbielke and Maik Nawrocki remain unclear.

The duo have made a combined 22 appearances this campaign despite Celtic spending a total of 8.4 million euros on their services last summer (Transfermarkt).

Where they will end up when the upcoming transfer window ends remains to be seen and although Liam Scales signed a new contract at the end of last week, Rodgers will likely want to bring in a new centre-back this summer.

At the beginning of last month, QPR’s Jake Clarke-Salter was said to be of interest to the Bhoys (The Sun). The Celts have monitored his progress at Loftus Road and according to journalist John Percy, it would take between five and seven million pounds to secure his services.

Particularly if they qualify for the Champions League next season, such a price is in no way out of the Hoops’ reach but whether Clarke-Salter is the man the boss wants remains to be seen.
