Tomoki Iwata Responds To Daizen Maeda’s Emotional Post
Celtic’s mercurial Daizen Maeda watched on as his teaMMAtes put three past St. Mirren on Saturday afternoon.
Indeed, the winger has injured a tendon in his hamstring and it remains to be seen how long he will be out for.
He posted on X on Saturday night, writing that he has to trust his teaMMAtes and that it is frustrating that he can’t show his kids what he can do.
Maeda’s emotional post could well be a hint that he is out for the rest of the season which would be a big blow for Celtic given his pace, effort, and explosiveness.
What the 26-year-old brings to the side is noticeably missed when he’s not playing.
Take Yang’s performance on Saturday, for example. The South Korean flattered to deceive and in no way lived up to the levels set by Maeda at Ibrox last week.
In the midfield yesterday, though, Tomoki Iwata was once more consistent in his performance. He replied to his fellow countryman Maeda’s post, simply stating ‘I’ll be waiting’ (presumably for his return).
Much like the Celtic fans, Iwata understands how crucial Maeda is to the team. The attacker being out for the season would be bitter, but it sums up the luck the Hoops have had throughout the campaign regarding fitness issues.
