After a few nights with just 2 or 3 games, the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs are back in full swing with 4 games tonight to get us ready for a pivotal weekend ahead. That means even more wagering opportunities and ways to approach the games, and we absolutely love our NHL prop bet picks for today. We’re targeting 2 very reliable skaters, so let’s break down our best bets.

Along with our best NHL player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

Quinn Hughes over 0.5 assists (-110)

Over 0.5 assists (-110) available at time of publishing. Playable to -130.

If you want to talk about value, this is it. Quinn Hughes of the Vancouver Canucks has provided some of the most expensive prices in the player prop markets the past 2 seasons, and now we get an extremely reasonable price for something he does all too often. The Canucks are looking to bounce back from a Game 2 loss to the Nashville Predators, and Hughes should lead the way in doing so.

For perspective on just how valuable this play is, in the last game of the regular season, Hughes to record an assist came with a -220 price. You can also get his point prop at -145 tonight, which is normally set at 1.5 points. Regardless, Hughes is an assist machine, recording 75 of them this season, which was the fourth-most in the entire NHL. As if that wasn’t enough, he recorded 6 points in 3 games against the Preds this season, with all 6 being helpers. On top of all that, he had 2 assists in Game 1. With Vancouver needing to steal Game 3 in Nashville, look for Quinn Hughes to record an assist.

Connor McDavid over 1.5 points (-120)

Over 1.5 points (-120) available at time of publishing. Playable to -135.

If there is any skater more consistent than Hughes, it’s the great Connor McDavid. There isn’t much that hasn’t been said about his already Hall-of-Fame career, and he recorded 100 assists this season. Although he won’t be winning his 5th Art Ross Trophy for the most points in the league, he is a threat for 3+ points every night. After all, he had a remarkable 5-assist Game in Game 1 of the Edmonton Oilers series against the Los Angeles Kings. They lost Game 2 in overtime where McDavid was held to just 1 point, and to expect that to happen in back-to-back Games does not seem likely in the slightest.

McDavid is all too familiar with his Pacific Division rival in the postseason, as they’ve met in the first round each of the past 3 seasons. So, even before that 5-point Game 1 this year, he’s had great success against LA. In each of the last 4 Games in last year’s series, McDavid recorded multiple points. Furthermore, he recorded multiple points in 3 of 4 regular season meetings against the Kings, and he knows he’s going to need to lead the way for a Game 3 bounce-back win. We’d also consider taking his goal-scoring prop, but we’ll add to our NHL prop bet picks for today with McDavid to record multiple points.
