Her name is Magnolia, a dog who shows the world that hope never goes out. Walking with a package of more than 6 kilos hanging from your body is not easy at all.

It would not be a simple matter for anyone to try to get ahead in these conditions, but it is worse for an abandoned animal.

The former owner of Magnolia decided to leave her to her fate on Mahogany Road in the Virgin Islands (United States). Luckily some people who were moved by her situation reported the dog and the volunteers from the Animal Welfare Center went to rescue her from her.

These people had no idea of the portrait they would find, the dog couldn’t even move because of how heavy her tumor was.

His mobility was impossible, so the vets began planning his surgery . This after making sure that everything was fine with the dog’s heart. After the check-up they verified that the furry one was not in itself a stray animal because it kept well fed.

It was likely that her family had decided to set her aside, after her state of Health had gotten completely out of control.

Due to the size of the tumor, the risk was greater since anything could happen during the surgery . The dog’s doctors and caregivers prayed that she would make it through the process. In fact, the shelter asked for a prayer for the furry on its social networks.

Luckily those prayers worked because, after two hours of being operated on, the anesthesia had completely passed and little Magnolia was waking up.

They removed 6.75 kilos of tumor mass during surgery, so after suturing this dog she had to fully recover.

But now Magnolia needed to regain her strength and even learn to move again without that uncomfortable bulge dangling from her body. Luckily, the dog managed to stand up and her caregivers began to encourage her to take her first little steps.

There is no doubt that that moment must have been something strange but at the same time liberating for her. Of course, Magnolia couldn’t walk for a long time, because her sutures were still recent and they made her a little uncomfortable.

The therapy was not easy, because it took weeks for the dog to recover her health, and also her confidence. Magnolia was terrified of the pain she remembered having to walk, but that was behind her and she would see it herself very soon.

After receiving medical discharge, Magnolia went to a temporary home where they continued to watch over her and were very attentive to her recovery.

Luckily, it turned out that the furry tumor was not malignant, so they only had to worry about her resuming her life.

After a few months, the dog returned from her temporary home and is back at the shelter. From there she continues to grow healthy and very well cared for by all the volunteers who brought her back to life.

It is gratifying to see how the dog found in a deplorable state on the street was finally able to regain her joy and smile. We need more heroes like this in the world.
