It’s playtime for fans of Squid Game, each of whom stands a chance to watch season 2 of the survival thriller horror series at an exclusive screening with the cast and crew of the show. There’s also some fun merchandise in store. All of this is courtesy of Netflix’s World Premiere Event that is scheduled for 9 December, ahead of the official release on the 26th of the same month. The second iteration of the popular South Korean TV series Squid Game will see the return of sinister ups and downs — this time with a hardened Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae)on a mission to expose the truth about the comPetition. In his path is the man at the helm of all affairs — Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) — whose motives remain a mystery. The new series is set to drop on 26 December on Netflix.

“I do have a lot on my shoulders, but I’ll make sure it’s worth the wait,” director Hwang was quoted saying by Netflix in 2023. True to this, a recently released teaser trailer promises nail-biting sequences in Squid Game season 2 — with the streaming platform building anticipation around the same with an exciting World Premiere Event in December. On the itinerary — access to an exclusive screening of the first episode, a chance to meet and interact with the cast and director, win official goodies, and even have one’s videos showcased. The event will take place on 9 December, 7 KST (6 pm HKT) at the bustling Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). In attendance will be the cast of Squid Game season 2 along with director Hwang Dong-hyuk. Participants must be 19 years of age or above to apply — dates for which are from 4-15 November. Winners will be announced on 18 November at 2 KST (1 pm HKT) via email.

It’s worth noting that while international fans are free to participate, they will not be given any financial aid for Travel or accommodations. Video submissions must be 30 seconds or less and under 100 MB. A few of these will be played at the event and thus boost the chances of heading to the screening. The chosen ones will also win exclusive Squid Game 2 gifts.
