The St. Louis Blues and the Seattle Kraken meet Tuesday in NHL action from the Climate Pledge Arena. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this Game. Here’s a Seattle Kraken vs St. Louis Blues Prediction.

St. Louis Blues Team Preview

The St. Louis Blues come into the 2024-25 season looking to get back to the postseason after finishing the 2023-24 campaign with a 43-33-6 record, just missing out on the postseason. The Blues kept their core from last season pretty much intact, including the likes of Robert Thomas, Jordan Kyrou, Pavel Buchnevich and Jake Neighbours, with Kyrou leading the Blues in goals while Thomas was the only Blue to average at least a point a Game and Buchnevich had a 20-goal campaign for the fourth consecutive season. The defensive unit is pretty much intact as well with Colton Parayko and Justin Faulk back. Torey Krug will be out early on with injury, but I think that Ryan Suter will fill the void just fine. Jordan Binnington also had a great bounce back year in 2023-24, and Joel Hofer provides nice stability as a backup.

Why the St. Louis Blues will win

  • The Blues have won five of their last six road openers as underdogs.
  • The Kraken have lost each of their last five day games.
  • The Blues have covered the puck line in each of their last 10 games as underdogs against Pacific Division opponents.
  • The Kraken have failed to cover the puck line in five of their last six home games against Central Division opponents.

Seattle Kraken Team Preview

The Seattle Kraken come into the 2024-25 season hoping to bounce back after a down year, going from their first playoff appearance in 2022-23 to a 34-35-13 record and missing the playoffs. The Kraken were the only team in the NHL last year that finished top-10 in goals allowed per Game and missed the playoffs, leading the Kraken to make the coaching change from Dave Hakstol to Dan Bylsma. Chandler Stephenson was brought in via free agency, as was Brandon Montour to shore up the defense off of his stanley cup win with the Florida Panthers, replacing Justin Schultz in the process to go along with Vince Dunn in the Kraken defensive group. Between the pipes, the Kraken will be hoping for better Health from a goaltending standpoint as expected #1, Phillipp Grubauer missed a fair amount of last season, forcing Joey Daccord into a starting role more often than not. Daccord held his own, but it wasn’t enough to save the Kraken. We can probably expect more of a 50/50 goaltending split in 2024-25, but I’m not sure it’ll be enough to help the Kraken stay above water.

Why the Seattle Kraken will win

  • The Blues have lost nine of their last 10 Tuesday games.
  • The favorites have won each of the Blues’ last five games.
  • The Kraken have covered the puck line in each of their last six Tuesday games.
  • The Blues have failed to cover the puck line in eight of their last nine Tuesday road games.

Seattle Kraken vs St. Louis Blues Prediction

I’m on the Blues here. The Kraken will likely play better than they did to start the year last year, where they lost 7 of their first 9 games and 21 of their first 29. However, the Kraken still didn’t do all that well at home, and the Blues were a team that were road warriors for the most part. They brought a lot of value to the table a lot of the time, and I think we’re getting it right from the word go here. Give me the Blues and the plus money.
