They’re inseparable ❤️

Everyone has their special spot — a place they go when they want to get away from the world.

For Chris, a rescue pig who lives at Edgar’s Mission, a farm animal sanctuary in Australia, his special spot is his “pig cave.”

“To many, it may look like a simple dark green kennel, but to Chris, it’s his ‘pigcave,’ his special place to retreat, his room with a view,” Edgar’s Mission wrote in a Facebook post about Chris. “A place he can often be found. Sometimes with his bestest bud, New Kid, by his side.”

That’s right — Chris’ best friend at the sanctuary isn’t a fellow pig. He’s a gentle goat named New Kid.

Sometimes, New Kid climbs inside the pig cave to hang with his buddy.

Other times, he keeps watch outside while Chris snoozes behind him.

It’s no coincidence that Chris’ pig cave looks like a dog house. According to Edgar’s Mission, Chris often acts a bit like a dog.

“Chris displays many of the attributes commonly assigned to dogs,” the sanctuary wrote in another Facebook post.

“He knows his name (responding to it when it suits him), Wags his tail in pleasure, loves his tummy rubs and chin scratches, is happy living in a house where he has his [favorite] plush bed, loves going for walks, and is smart and endearing.”

Back in December 2023, Chris and his family were rescued from a shed on an abandoned farm.

Ever since, Chris has been thriving at the sanctuary, enjoying his lazy days in his pig cave without a care in the world.

Safe at Edgar’s Mission, Chris doesn’t have to worry about feeling alone or abandoned ever again. And if he ever needs a pal to lean on, New Kid is always happy to visit the pig cave.
