Mercedes share emotional message for fans after 'challenging' year
Mercedes have shared an emotional message for their fans after what has been a "challenging" year for the team.
The 2022 season proved difficult for the Silver Arrows, with the squad struggling with issues such as porpoising on the W13 car as the campaign got underway.
While there were signs of progress over the course of the year, Mercedes were ultimately unable to match the pace of rivals Red Bull and Ferrari.
The team finished the Constructors' Championship in third place, while George Russell – who scored their sole victory of the season in Brazil – claimed P4 in the Drivers' standings.
Lewis Hamilton ended the campaign in P6 and completed the season without taking a race win for the first time in his F1 career.
As such, Mercedes have reached out to their fanbase to thank them for supporting the team throughout the ups and downs of 2022.

Mercedes thank fans after 'rollercoaster of emotion'
In a letter shared on social media, the team wrote: "To our Mercedes-AMG family,
"2022 has been a challenging year for us.
"A rollercoaster of emotion, which we know you've felt just as strongly as we have.
"Through the incredible highs and crushing lows, you've been right there with us, to celebrate the good moments and pick us up after the ones that haven't gone our way.
"This year, your support has been more important than ever before, reminding us to never give up and to keep pushing until we're back at the top once again.
"While the hard work continues at the factories, this time of year does allow us a moment to pause and reflect on the past 12 months. We hope you are able to do the same over the holidays and spend time with your nearest and dearest.
"Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year.
"Your team,
"Mercedes."
