LingLing Kwong was born to a Chinese father from Hong Kong and a Thai mother from Kalasin province. Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, English, and Thai, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in tourism from the International College of Tourism Management at Khon Kaen University.
LingLing’s career wasn’t always centred on acting. As a child, she aspired to become a flight attendant, but her life took a turn when she entered the world of beauty pageants. In 2018, she was crowned Miss Khao Suan Kwang, and shortly afterward, she gained wider recognition after being named Miss Photogenic at the Miss Khon Kaen comPetition. This early success in pageantry led her to audition for Channel 3, where she soon became a featured artist.
Career Breakthroughs and Successes
LingLing’s acting debut came in 2020 when she played a supporting role in TV drama My Forever Sunshine alongside Mark Prin Suparat and Kao Supassara Thanachat. Her next big opportunity came in 2022 with Makkali The Love Tree, where she took on her first leading role as Theerak in a fantasy romance that garnered attention due to its magical storytelling.
However, it was in 2024 when LingLing truly broke through with her role in the Thai drama The Secret of Us, alongside Orm Kornnaphat. The show became a massive hit, reaching the top spot on Netflix’s top 10 list in Thailand and several other Asian countries. The success of The Secret of Us was largely driven by the undeniable chemistry between LingLing and Orm, which sparked a massive faNBAse under the hashtag #LingOrm, solidifying both their individual and joint popularity.
The actress’ growing influence was recognised when she and Orm received the “50 Influential People” award at the Howe Awards 2024. Additionally, LingOrm won the 2024 MCHOICE x MINT Award for Breakthrough Cast of the Year for The Secret of Us, and in 2022, she has already taken home the Global Star Media Award for Outstanding Rising Actress for her performance in Makkali The Love Tree.
Upcoming Projects
With her star on the rise, LingLing recently starred in project My Cherie Amour, which was released in September 2024. Here, she plays Jan in a supporting role alongside Yaya Urassaya and Thanapob Leeratanakachorn. She is currently set to take the lead role of Tawan in the highly anticipated 2025 drama Only You.
With a mix of cultures and languages shaping her career, LingLing Kwong has brought something fresh to Thai television. From her early pageant days to now headlining hit dramas, the actress has quickly made an impactful name for herself in Thailand’s Entertainment industry.
