Man Utd confirm Rasmus Hojlund injury blow in latest setback

Manchester United have confirmed that striker Rasmus Hojlund will miss Saturday's clash with Fulham and, in all likelihood, the Manchester derby on March 3 through injury.

The 21-year-old has enjoyed an unbelievable run of form which has seen him net seven goals in his last six Premier League Games, having failed to find the back of the net in his first 14 outings in the comPetition.

But Hojlund's momentum has been ground to a halt by United announcing that the Dane has suffered a muscle injury which will keep him out of action for two to three weeks.

After Saturday's meeting with Fulham, United take on Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup fifth round, before the Red Devils turn their attention to the derby against Manchester City. If the club's predicted return timeline proves to be accurate, Hojlund will not be able to take on the Premier League champions.

A two-week absence could see Hojlund return against Everton on March 9, otherwise the clash with Sheffield United seven days later could be a possible return target.

Hojlund's goalscoring form has seen him rise to the top of United's scoring charts, tied with defensive midfielder Scott McTominay with seven goals.

Alejandro Garnacho is narrowly behind with five strikes to his name, as is Marcus Rashford, who is likely to take Hojlund's spot in attack while the Denmark international is unavailable.
