The Los Angeles Clippers play host to the Phoenix Suns at the Intuit Dome on Thursday night. Here’s a LA Clippers vs Phoenix Suns Prediction. This article will include an LA Clippers vs Phoenix Suns Pick.

Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns have been in fine form as they’ve reeled off three wins from their first four outings and they will be eager to stay hot after outlasting the in-form Lakers in a 109-105 home win on Monday. Before that, they beat the Mavericks. Devin Booker led the team with 33 points on 11 of 23 shooting, Kevin Durant added 30 points with eight rebounds and four assists while Bradley Beal chipped in with 15 points.
As a team, the Suns shot 46 percent from the field and 11 of 36 from the 3-point line, but this win was more about their defense as they restricted the Lakers to just 14 points in the second quarter to erase an early 18-point lead, before they held the Lakers to just four points in the final 3:20 to escape with the impressive comeback victory.

Los Angeles Clippers

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in decent shape as they’ve split their first four games, but they will be hoping to bounce back in this one after falling painfully short to the lowly Trail Blazers in a 106-105 home loss last night. Norman Powell led the team with 30 points on 11 of 22 shooting, James Harden added 19 points with 10 assists while Kevin Porter Jr chipped in with 10 points, but no other player finished in double figures.
As a team, the Clippers shot 45 percent from the field and 13 of 36 from the 3-point line as they poured in 35 points in the third quarter to erase a 10-point deficit, only to come up just short as they turned the ball over on the final possession that could’ve won them the game.

Why the Phoenix Suns will win

  • The Suns have won each of their last six games when playing with a rest advantage.
  • The Clippers have lost 11 of their last 13 home games on the second leg of a back-to-back against the Suns.
  • The Clippers have failed to cover the spread in four of their last five games as home underdogs on the second leg of a back-to-back.
  • The Suns have covered the spread in three of their last four games against opponents who are on the second leg of a back-to-back.

Total Points Facts

  • Seven of the Suns’ last eight road games following a home win have gone UNDER the total points line.
  • Seven of the last eight night games between the Suns and Clippers have gone OVER the total points line.

Matchup/League Facts

  • The Clippers rank 1st in the league for opponent assists per game this season (20.8).
  • The Clippers rank 30th in the league for opponent steals per game this season (11.0).
  • The Suns rank 30th in the league for offensive rebounds per game this season (6.3).
  • The Suns rank 30th in the league for field goal attempts per game this season (81.8).
The Suns are shorthanded here, with Josh Okogie already ruled out, and Bradley Beal listed as questionable due to a sprained right elbow, while the Clippers are still missing Kawhi Leonard and Mo Bamba. The Suns have yet to hit their stride this season, but they’ve still been playing well enough to win three of their first four games, so they will like their chances against a shorthanded Clippers team that just got beaten by the rebuilding Trail Blazers.  The Clippers are also playing on zero days’ rest, so with the line so short, I am happy taking the Suns to take advantage with a narrow win and cover on the road.

Peter Tran's Free Pick: Phoenix -4.5
